Yultide: Delta Govt assure citizens of adequate security

Governor Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa-led Delta State Government has assured citizens of adequate security before, during, and after the Christmas and New year celebration.
The Delta State Director-General of Security, Hon. David Towne gave the assurance during a chat with newsmen in Asaba.
He said the collaboration between Operation Delta Hawk and other security agencies, especially the Police, Army, Directorate of Security Services, the Navy, Airforce, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, as well as the Road Safety Corps have made the State unhealthy for miscreants to operate.
Tonwe thanked Governor Okowa for the maximum assistance to Operation Delta Hawk in the last year since its establishment.
He said the timely information from stakeholders had led to the arrest and prosecution of hoodlums.
He also solicited the usual cooperation of Deltans in keeping the State safe for all.
Tonwe said his men were already at alert to ensure that no traveler or commuter in any part of Delta was robbed or kidnapped by miscreants along the Abavo/Umutu/Eku road, as well as other flashpoints where robbers laid siege in odd hours.
He noted that before Christmas, Sapele and the entire Okpe area, as well as Oghara, Mosogar, and Jesse axis will be covered by Operation Delta Hawk in terms of security.
According to him, no effort will be spared inadequate policing of Ughelli, Udu, Effurun, Uvwie, and their environs.
He warned those aiding and abetting criminal activities to desist or be ready to contend with the law.
Tonwe said plans have been concluded by different security agencies in the State to ensure free flow of traffic at the Asaba Bridgehead and other areas in the State where high vehicular activities are high during the festive period.
